Mt.Fuji Day Trip from Tokyo

Kawaguchiko is one of the most popular day trip from Tokyo to see Mt. Fuji and it has a wealth of natural resources such as Autumn leaves, Cherry blossoms.

If you haven't a planning on climbing Mount Fuji, but you want a place that would give you an amazing view of the famous Mountain in Japan, you can take a day trip from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko.

Depending on the situation the season, most of the times it hides behind thick clouds but we were lucky enough to see Mt. Fuji.

               

It just takes less than 2 hours 30 mins from Shinjuku station to Kawaguchiko station by Train or Buses.


If you want to directly arrive to Kawaguchiko station, it is convenient for you to use"FUJI EXCURSION".


Also you can take the JR Chuo line from Shinjuku station to Otsuki station. It takes about 60 minutes and costs about 2500 yen by direct limited express train. 

From Otsuki station, take the Fujikyu railway line to Kawaguchiko Station. It takes 50 minutes and costs 1140 yen.



But one of the most economical ways to travel to Kawaguchiko is Highway bus from Shinjuku Station to Kawaguchiko Station.

The one-way tickets can be booked online on the Highway Buses Japan site.

In the Mt.Fuji and Kawaguchiko area, I recommend you to buy a bus pass, "The Unlimited Ride Pass" that gives you unlimited ride and it is costs just 1500 Yen.

For example, the one-way fare from the first stop to the last stop on the Red Line is 480 Yen.
The bus line operate at 15-minute intervals.
