Nikko Toshogu Shrine / Traveling from Tokyo

World cultural treasure Nikko shrines and Nikko National Park are the places where the healing power of nature while enjoying its history and culture.

Only just about 2hours, you can get to Nikko from Asakusa or Shinjuku or Ikebukuro by Tobu Railway.

The shrine where the first shogun, Tokukgawa Ieyasu, was enshrined. leyasu founded the Edo bakufu. Richly colored sculptures are seen in key places. The gate reflects Shogun's wish for Japanese peace.

In front of the Tobu Nikko station, there is one of sweets shop. "Sakaeya" is famous for a crispy sweet made with yuba(tofu skin).


Nikko Toshogu Shrine is about 20~30 minutes' walk from Tobu Nikko Station.

How to take buses in Nikko

Nikko Toshogu shrine entrance fee is 1,300 yen and it takes more than 3 hours to see all of the Toshogu shrine. (Toshogu shrine MAP)


Shinkyo Bridge is part of the Futarasan shrine and retains its long association with mysterious legends.
